From a small plot with old vines in the upper part of the Morstein, La Borne is not made every year. The 2014 Riesling Alte Reben la Borne was harvested even later than Morstein; the wine starts very aromatic and highly intense, but pure and precise on the nose. Full-flavored, round and juicy on the palate, with finesse and a stimulating salinity in the finish, this full-bodied, silky textured and elegant Riesling offers more fruit intensity and ripeness than the more ascetic Morstein. It will be interesting to see the development of both wines in the next ten or 15 years.
