The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc and was matured in French oak barriques (20% new) for between 12 and 18 months. Medium-deep garnet-purple in color, it offers a well defined nose of warm cassis, black cherry compote and black plums with an undercurrent of cedar, chocolate and toast. Medium to full bodied, it is generously fruited with refreshing acid and medium-high grainy tannins. The finish is long with a little oak poking through. Approachable now, it should cellar to 2019+.
