The 2013 Salanques is a blend of old-vine Garnacha (65%) and Cari?ena (25%) and young-ish Syrah (10%) fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts and matured in 50/50 new and second use French oak barrels. This has the complexity, depth and concentration of the top wines from many wineries. It's not particularly powerful, on the contrary, it is built on elegance and balance, with fresh aromas and a refined palate. It has clean, focused and pure aromas and flavors with very good acidity and very fine tannins. This is just great. 16,000 bottles were filled in April 2015.
