Amiot-Servelle's top wines include a stunning Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes, which exhibits outstanding depth, a wonderfully sweet, fragrant, black fruit and vanillin-scented nose, medium body, excellent precision and purity, and a sweet, long, moderately tannic finish. Approachable now, it will be at its best in 4-5 years and will keep for 12-15. Christian and Elizabeth Amiot are to be commended for the fine work they are doing at this small, 15-acre estate previously known as the Domaine Servelle-Tachot. The wines go from strength to strength, and the Amiots hit the bulls-eye with their 1993s. All except the Chambolle-Musigny were bottled unfiltered. In contrast to so many rough, diluted, astringent, charmless 1993s, Amiot-Servelle's offerings are densely-colored, with gorgeous extract levels, fine ripeness, and plenty of aging potential.
