Daniel Servelle irrefutably made better 1991s than 1990s. Low yields and the fact that the wines are now going into the bottle unfiltered have made a difference. These are wines of unmistakable charm and elegance, yet they are imbued with plenty of rich, sweet fruit. The 1991 Chambolle-Musigny-Les Charmes is pure delicacy and silk. The ripe berry-scented nose, and supple, impeccably balanced flavors reveal excellent richness, sweet, soft tannins, and a long finish. Delicious now, it should improve and last for 7-10 years. Servelle's immensely impressive 1991s are the best wines I have tasted from this up and coming domaine. Importer: Louis/Dressner Selections, New York, NY.
