A new wine I have not tasted before is Rosenblum's 1993 Zinfandel Harris-Kratka Vineyard from the Alexander Valley. It is a backward, but impressively-constituted and constructed wine. The opaque, saturated dark ruby/purple color is followed by a tight but promising nose of black-cherries, raspberries, oak, and spice. The wine offers low acidity, moderate tannin, full body, and exceptional length and depth. It is a Zinfandel to drink over the next 10+ years. Are there any other veterinarians making wines this good? Dr. Rosenblum's Midas touch with Zinfandel has been evident for a number of years and I am delighted to report that it continues with the 1993s.
