The 2007 Barolo Briccolina presents tight tannins and a rock-solid structure. In fact, Enrico sent me a written report that suggests this wine was designed to showcase the firm tannins derived from the rich soils of Serralunga d’Alba. The astringency is over the top for my tastes, but I would be curious to revisit this wine in five to ten years. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.
