The 2009 Barbicone is gorgeous in this vintage. Dark cherries, flowers, spices and licorice waft from the glass in this refined red. The 2009 boasts great purity in a highly appealing, medium-bodied style that places more of an emphasis on elegance than some previous years. There is remarkable freshness and vibrancy in this Sangiovese-based red. This is a great, great showing. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021.
