The 2004 Barbicone shows a darker profile than the 2005, with well-delineated notes of dark cherries, tobacco and herbs on a medium-bodied frame. The tannins are well-integrated, yet I would choose to give this wine a few more months in bottle to come together. Barbicone is a French oak-aged blend of 80% Sangiovese, and Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Canaiolo and Giacomino. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011.
