This is another young turk in Cote Rotie. He uses minimal SO2 and bottles after about 24 months of barrique aging with no filtration. His 2004s are relatively successful in this challenging vintage. There is some unresolved tannin in the regular cuvee of 2004 Cote Rotie, but I liked its elegance and the licorice, black currant, smoke, and hint of bacon fat in its rich, spicy nose and medium-bodied, crisp flavors. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
