Surprisingly, this blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah hadn't been previously reviewed. The 2010 Rasteau Cuvee Confiance was aged in the winery's first foudre, so it does show a bit of new oak in its scents of cedar and vanilla, but it's also full-bodied, with a plush, velvety texture. Layers of dark fruit and chocolate flow across the palate in a wine that's concentrated and rich without being heavy. It ends with a long, silky finish.
