If ever there was a vintage in Margaret River to steal your heart, it would surely be 2014... The 2014 Stevens Road Cabernet Sauvignon is classical, balanced, elegant, plush and beautiful. It has sway and rhythm, somehow. Texturally, I'm not sure what more you could want from tannins: they surround the fruit and impregnate the fruit with structure and shape. Yet at no point do they inhibit the mellifluous flow of flavor. The acidity pulses through the very heart of the wine, imbuing it with life and energy. Impervious to hyperbole, I wish the 2014 could be captured at this very point in its life, to be enjoyed just like this forevermore.
