A pure expression of Carmenère, this is a dark and hearty red wine that is dense and rich at its core. The 2015 Colli Berici Carmenere Riserva Oratorio di San Lorenzo offers intense notes of plummy black fruit with spicy contours of teriyaki or barbecue smoke. The grapes are fermented over a 14-day period, and the finished wine is left to rest in new and used barrique for 18 months. This is a thick and bold red to pair with a T-bone steak. This wine is only produced in the best vintages, and production numbers fall between 5,000 and 10,000 bottles, depending on the quantities produced per vintage.
