Late-harvest Viognier from the great '01 vintage. Very rich, ripe and opulent, this full-bodied white is frankly sweet, barely holding on to a fresh thread of lemon to keep it on an even keel. A tad flabby, but what's there--the gooey mixture of cream, vanilla, butter, honey, peach and apricot--forms a dessert in itself. And a touch of lime kicks on the aftertaste.
