This wine came from the Astralis vineyard. Its fabulous dense purple color shows no signs of amber even though it is 10 years old. The wine is extremely fresh, with a smoky, blackberry nose intermixed with graphite, truffle, tapenade, and barbecue spice. Opulently rich, with tremendous viscosity, sweetness of fruit, and a finish of nearly 40 seconds, this is a gorgeous, complex Shiraz that has reached full maturity yet should last for another 10-15 years.
