The 2008 Salmos is made up of 40% Garnacha, 40% Carinena, and 20% Syrah aged in new French oak for 16 months. Aromas of toasty oak, Asian spices, a hint of balsamic, lavender, black cherry, and blueberry inform the nose of this sweet, layered, spicy Priorat. Nicely proportioned in a racy style, it will evolve for 1-2 years and offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2020.
The giant Penedes producer Torres has ventured successfully into Priorat beginning in 2005.
