The 2002 Meursault Boucheres boasts an immensely pleasing nose of hazelnuts, ginger, and spices. This buttery, suave, medium-bodied wine is deep, satiny-textured, and possesses a lovely, long, fruit-filled finish. Copious quantities of creamed nuts, ginger, and nutmeg can be discerned throughout its expressive core. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.
Jean-Pierre Latour defines the 2002 vintage for white Burgundies as “tenderness plus fruit, like 1992 but with the freshness of 1996.” He went on to add that he was “stupefied by the completeness of the 2002s. Analytically, they are like the 2000s, but tender, not square like the 2000s.” This estate began harvesting its wines on the 20th of September.
