This offering is well-balanced, with nicely integrated acidity, alcohol, and tannin. The superb 1996 Barolo exhibits purple nuances in its plum/ruby color. It possesses an opulent texture, super richness, copious sweet red fruits and glycerin in the mid-palate, and a long, nicely nuanced, layered finish. Still youthful, but impressively endowed, it will be at its peak between 2003-2014. No known American importer.
