The 2004 ARAGONEZ was not really a wine that I expected to develop well, given its eccentricities, but it has slid rather quickly. The flamboyance is still there—those notes of kirsch and Chambord. The fruit, however, has faded, and the wine seems clumsy and sharp. I found this hard to warm up to, to say the least. Whether it continues to hold or not is rather irrelevant—there isn’t going to be much of interest left if this is held much longer, so drink up. Drink now-2011.
