The 2000 Eneo Rosso (100% Sangiovese aged in one and two-year old French oak) exhibits a dense purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of black cherries intermixed with new saddle leather, licorice, tobacco, and spice. Although the tannin is aggressive, the wine is elegant and authoritatively concentrated with outstanding density and ripeness. It will drink well young, yet age nicely for 10-12 years.
