The 2009 Pinot Noir flows from the glass with plums, dark cherries, flowers and menthol. This isn’t super-complex, but it is immensely enjoyable. Ideally the wine is best enjoyed while the fruit remains vibrant. Floral and spiced notes reappear on the finish, adding lift and classiness. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016. I was very impressed with the Chardonnays and Pinots I tasted from Rusack. The Syrahs appear to be works in progress, but given the level of the best wines here, I see no reason why they can’t be of similar quality. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.Tel.
