Recognizable by the estate's black label, the Zuani 2016 Collio Riserva Zuani showcases great textural density and richness with creamy aromas of poached pear, white peach, sweet almond and cream-filled pastry. There are subtle touches of smoke and spice, but they don't take away from the primary intensity of the fruit. Like the other samples tasted from Zuani, a distinctive mineral note seals the deal. For this lovely blend of Friulano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio, try an appetizer of pan-fried scallops in butter.

The 2015 Collio Riserva Zuani represents a classic Friuli blend of Friulano, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. This wine (with 10,000 bottles produced) is executed in a straightforward manner with some oak aging to increase the textural fiber and depth of the blend. The bouquet offers stone and tropical fruits with lemon and honeydew melon. Pair this riserva with creamy or spicy food such as roasted eggplant baba ganoush.

A blend of oak-aged Friulano, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, the 2013 Collio Riserva Zuani is a plump and rich white wine. This medium-to-full-bodied expression is redolent of apricot, candied fruit, poached pear and sweet almond paste. There is a touch of baking spice with distant hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. The wine's texture is smooth and rich. This wine has the heft and stamina to pair with white meat or fish in cream and tarragon butter sauce.

With the same blend of grapes as the base Bianco (Friulano, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio), the 2011 Collio Zuani Riserva is distinguished by the use of oak. The wine definitely exhibits spice and toast with a good measure of fleshy, fresh fruit at the back. The bouquet is reminiscent of peach, apricot and cooked pear.
