A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Syrah and 5% Malbec, the 2018 Estate Reserve begins with aromas of crème de cassis, dark cherry, dusty plum, blackberry skin and red flowers that sway with elements of baked earth and soft baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, the wine delivers flavors of cinnamon-sprinkled black cherries, blackberry reduction and elements of bitter dark chocolate and black tea. The red blend wears a firm tannic coat and ends with a long, lingering finish that should deliver pleasure until its 10th birthday. The wine rested for 27 months in all-new French oak barrels. 3,468 bottles were filled.
