Aged in 100% new French oak for 24 months, the 2008 Special Select Shiraz gives a very deep garnet-purple and an earthy, meaty, gamey character over notes of warm plums, blueberry preserves, cedar and bacon plus hints of truffles and tar. Full bodied with generous amount of earthy / savory flavors in the mouth, the flesh is well supported by a medium to firm level of rounded tannins and enlivening acid, finishing long. Still very youthful and tight-knit, it should drink best 2013 to 2020+.
