The 1986 Chardonnay is fully mature on the nose with toffee and caramel aromas, although it is still fresh and clean. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded, honeyed entry and the wine displays good fruit intensity. However, it does not reveal much tension or tautness on the finish. This does not offer any surprises, but it has survived for 25-years without too much effort. Tasted May 2011.
