The 2021 Yacca Paddock Tempranillo is possessed of gorgeous aromatics—spring flowers, hot black rocks, a hint of Australian bush and pepper. In the mouth, the wine echoes the aromas, however the tannins step in and straighten everything out. Like a bouncer at a party, it does bring the tone down a bit. I love the vibrancy and freshness of the fruit. Cassis through the finish. Really nicely done.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Yacca Paddock Tempranillo offers tons of ripe, expressive baked raspberry and mulberry laced notes with nuances of tobacco, earth, stewed tea and Bovril. It fills the medium bodied mouth with savory / earthy flavors supported by chewy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a herbal lift.

Deep garnet-purple in color, 2009 Yacca Paddock Tempranillo presents some tar and rubber notes over baked blackberry and raspberry, lots of pepper, some baking spices and stewed tea. Very full and densely packed with warm berry flavors on the palate, it has crisp acid, a medium-high level of grippy, slightly astringent tannins and a long finish. Drink this one now to 2016.
