I have had some great Petite Sirahs from La Jota, but the ownership has changed and I am not sure this wine emerges from the same vineyard that produced some of those terrific wines of the early to mid nineties. Nevertheless, this is a competent effort. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of licorice, black cherries, currants, and loamy soil. Medium-bodied with a short finish, it should be drunk over the next 2-3 years.
