The 2001 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico is a sublime, elegant wine that flows with sweet scents of tobacco, dried figs, honey, flowers and spices. This medium-bodied Vin Santo possesses tons of balance and poise in an elegant, restrained style. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. Proprietor Paolo De Marchi is one of Tuscany’s most inspired growers. Made in a rich, viscous style, it evokes roasted nuts, baking spices, dried figs, cloves and roasted coffee beans with the slightly oxidative notes that are typical of this wine. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012.
