The young, creamy and juicy 2019 Petra is pure Garnacha that fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured in well-seasoned, neutral oak barrels for 15 months, including malolactic. There is a lactic touch and some notes of cereals here that interferes a bit with the purity of Garnacha. It's medium-bodied and has moderate ripeness at 13.5% alcohol, revealing good freshness and acidity and a pH of 3.6. 5,633 bottles were filled in July 2021.

The first new wine for a long time is a new Garnacha, the 2016 Petra. It's from 3.3 hectares that used to be Cabernet Sauvignon and were regrafted to a Garnacha sourced from a centenary vineyard. It fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured in well-seasoned oak barrels for 19 months. It's only 13.5% alcohol and is certainly fresher and younger than any of the other wines, with some grapey aromas, flowers and licorice. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and good freshness. A nice addition to the portfolio. 4,833 bottles were filled in July 2018.
