The 2007 Les Sorts Vinyes Velles is the same blend as the 2006 as well as the same elevage. Mineral, underbrush, spice box, a hint of balsamic, and assorted black fruits compose the bouquet of this spicy, well-balanced, lengthy wine. The 2005 Les Sorts Vinyes Velles is a blend of 50% Carinena, 35% Garnatxa, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 80% new, mostly French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it has an alluring nose of wood smoke, liquid mineral, forest floor, spice box, blueberry, and black cherry. Elegant on the palate, it has loads of spicy cherry fruit with a hint of chocolate in the background, silky tannin, and a lengthy finish.
