Similar to the Terres d'arcs bottling in its concentration and tannins, the full-bodied 2019 Cornas les Murettes evokes notions of crème de cassis, black cherries, mint and liquid stones. Loaded with intensity and the essence of its Les C?tes terroir, it's a strong candidate for the cellar. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.

The full-bodied 2018 Cornas les Murettes features minty-menthol and cracked-pepper accents, hints of roasted meat and deep blackberry and blueberry fruit. It's rich and velvety, then turns dry and dusty on the finish, so give it another year or two in the cellar after release. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.

A step up from previous vintages, the 2017 Cornas les Murettes boasts complex floral, herbal and licorice notes on the nose. Combined with a whirl of blueberry and raspberry fruit, plus a dash of crushed stone, it makes compelling drinking. This full-bodied wine does have a firm, drying finish to complement the mouthwatering fruit, so don't be in too much of a hurry to crack a bottle.

Already bottled, the 2016 Cornas les Murettes features scents of crushed stone, red plum and grilled meat. This medium to full-bodied offering's firm tannins suggest a couple of years in the cellar for this classically styled Cornas.

Starting with the two Cornas releases and fresh and focused, with lots of black fruits, charcoal and hints of oak, the 2015 Cornas les Murettes is medium to full-bodied and nicely focused on the palate, with fine, yet ripe tannin. Coming from the Sabarotte and Les C?tes lieux-dits, aged in second and third-fill barrels, it's going to be approachable at an earlier stage than the Terre d'Arce and have 10-15 years of overall longevity.
