Aromas of crisp green apple, tart Anjou pear, lime zest and white flowers preface the 2017 Chablis, a medium to full-bodied, delicately textural wine that's built around a racy spine of acidity, concluding with a pure and mouthwatering finish. It's an attractive wine with a good track record of developing in the cellar.

The 2015 Chablis is certainly a step up in power from the Petit Chablis this year, with cold flint and smoky notes, almost 2014 in style and impressive for a village cru. The palate is well balanced with a touch of almond and white chocolate, the acidity nicely judged; the finish is perhaps slightly curtailed, but maintaining tautness and vibrancy.

The 2014 Chablis, harvested by machine and given 8 to 10 months aging on the lees, needs to show more intensity and energy on the nose: conservative and straitlaced at the moment. The palate is simple with grassy, herbaceous tones on the entry, moderate acidity, but feeling a little clipped on the finish.

The 2012 Chablis comes from 30-year-old vines, the fruit fermented and matured in stainless steel for between 10 and 12 months. It has a slightly reduced and rather conservative bouquet, though aeration reveals attractive light flinty aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp lime and gooseberry on the entry. Linear and nicely poised with good tension on the finish, the aftertaste is adorned with a touch of spiciness. Very fine.
