Jean-Claude Courtault's 2005 Chablis has developed very nicely, wafting from the glass with aromas of green apples, Meyer lemon, clear honey and drawn butter. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming, with good depth and concentration, lively acids and a flavorful finish. This is an impressive showing, especially given the comparatively rapid evolution that many 2005 Chablis have followed, as this bottling is cruising along.
