Produced with Garnacha Blanca grapes, the substantial 2017 Blanc d'Orto has varietal aromas of waxy apples intermixed with notions of bay leaf and other aromatic herbs. It was bottled unoaked and has the purity of fruit I was expecting, with a dry and medium-bodied palate with good balance. There is a bitter twist in the finish. 3,800 bottles and 48 magnums were filled in July 2018.

The white Garnacha Blanca 2016 Blanc d'Orto was cropped from a very dry year. It fermented after one day skin contact and matured with lees in stainless steel vats for eight months. It has varietal character and good freshness. It's still young and primary, with aromas and flavors of apples and white pears. Nicely balanced and tasty. 3,800 bottles and 36 magnums were filled in July 2017.

The pure Garnacha Blanca 2015 Blanc d'Orto was already available for tasting as it had been bottled for a few weeks. All wines ferment with indigenous yeasts. It had some white flower aromas, something balsamic, medicinal, akin to bay leaf and a little more ripeness than the 2014, with yellow fruit. The palate shows good volume, ripe and tasty flavors. These old vines give low yields and the wines are nicely concentrated. 4,000 bottles were filled in June 2016.

The 2014 Blanc d'Orto is pure Garnacha from six different vineyards with one day maceration with the skins, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and aging in stainless steel with lees for eight months. The color is deeper than the 2014 (which is never pale anyway), and the nose had developed a lot more complexity. But at the same time, there is elegance, which is what you need to look for in these wines that are always powerful. There are lots of yellow plums and pollen, even some quince. This is probably the best white they have produced to date. 4,200 bottles produced.

The only white wine produced at the property is pure Garnacha Blanca, the 2013 Blanc d'Orto, an unoaked, fresh white fermented in contact with the skins and matured in contact with the lees for eight months. Yellow plums, flowers and a touch of spices dominate the nose of this showy white, which also shows some lees, bread dough-like aromas. The palate is very tasty, with good balance and with a pleasant, slightly bitter finish. 3,930 bottles produced.
