Marked by delectable accents of cinnamon and nutmeg, the cassis and cedar nose of the 2016 Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon is classic. This medium to full-bodied Cabernet is richly structured and tannic while being velvety in texture at the same time, with a long, enticingly furry finish and hints of vanilla and mocha.

The full-bodied 2015 Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon is packed with blueberries and cassis flavors, which pick up delightful notes of baking spices on the lively, zesty finish. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, it should drink well sooner than the 2014 and last longer.

Still quite firm and tannic, the 2014 Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon is at the same time highly perfumed, with exquisite aromas of cassis, blueberry and mint. Medium to full-bodied, it should begin drinking well around 2022.

From sandy soils (the Brookman site is more clay), the 2013 Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon is slightly lighter and less intense. Hints of bell pepper (it was a cool vintage) mark the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate delivers notes of cassis and chocolate before ending long, framed by fine-grained tannins.

Densely tannic, with grabby tannins that pull at the cheeks as peppery black fruit flavors push through. May soften with age. Best after 2020. 400 cases imported.??–HS??Region: Australia / Clarendon Select to Add
