The 2008 Sandown Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon gives a deep garnet-purple color and pronounced notes of black currant cordial, chocolate, marmite, loam, black truffle, soy and black olive plus a whiff of lavender. Full-bodied with a high level of fine grained tannins and high acidity, the fruit and earth components are well intertwined on the palate, finishing long.
