The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Sandown Vineyard displays a herbaceous, spicy, St.-Emilion-like personality reminiscent of a Cabernet Franc-dominated wine such as Figeac. Leafy, vegetal elements are present along with the black currant, spice box, and incense components. Drink this Bordeaux-styled effort over the next 10-12 years. It is the only wine in Clarendon Hills’ 2002 portfolio that did not perform better out of bottle than it did from cask. Roman Bratasiuk is one of Planet Earth’s greatest winemakers, and obviously a top-notch viticulturist given his obsession with sourcing extraordinary fruit from ancient McLaren Vale vineyards.Please note there has been a change in American importers for Clarendon Hills.
