The 2019 Reserve Barbera leads with cracked peppercorns, a hint of reduction and loads of black berries. In the mouth, the wine is exactly as a Barbera should be: moderately high acid, plenty of tannins and loads of black fruit. Nicely done.

Medium-deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Reserve Barbera gives aromas of kirsch, red plum preserves, raspberry cordial and a whiff of violets. The rich, full-bodied palate is packed with warm cherry flavors supported with medium-high acidity and a low to medium level of soft tannins, finishing long. Drink it now to 2015. The 2008 Reserve Barbera is the biggest wine of this line-up in terms of body and alcohol, coming in at 15.3%. The color is deep garnet-purple. Aromas include warm blackberries, dried plum, Mediterranean herbs, cloves, mincemeat and a whiff of balsamic. Full body, crisp acidity and plenty of spiced dark berry fruit. Medium level of silken tannins. Long finish. Drink now to 2014.
