The top-of-the-range 2019 Mas de la Rosa now has the highest possible category: Gran Vinya Classificada, which is reserved for the best single-vineyard wines in the Priorat. It feels like the finest and most elegant Mas de la Rosa here, with good ripeness but nicely integrated oak and good freshness, keeping the Priorat character and energy, powerful and concentrated but neatly balanced. It has a spark of acidity that makes it very long, and the tannins are very fine. This vintage matured in used 300-liter French oak barrels for 14 months. The price seems to have skyrocketed. 1,205 bottles were filled in March 2021.

The powerful and balsamic 2017 Vall Llach Mas de la Rosa has some floral aromas intermixed with notes of wild berries and herbs, spicy and smoky but in a subtler way than in the earlier vintages. It is pure Cari?ena from three hectares of vines planted in 1900 at 600 meters in altitude, and the élevage was exclusively in used 300-liter French oak barrels and lasted 14 months. It has a lot of varietal character with those lovely and elegant rustic notes of tree bark and earth, with some dusty tannins that would welcome powerful food and/or a couple more years in bottle. This is the finest Mas de la Rosa I remember.
