The unreleased 2019 Rose is similar to the 2018 version, with watermelon and strawberry notes leading the way, but it's underscored this year by brighter, more citrusy notes. It's light to medium-bodied, with a crisp, savory edge to the finish.

First offered from the 2015 vintage (with 400 cases produced from underripe Grenache), Cape Mentelle's rosé is now 10,000 cases, produced as a Shiraz-based blend that includes bits of Grenache, Tempranillo, Zinfandel and Mataro. The 2018 Rose offers up faint notions of watermelon and strawberries. It's medium-bodied, plump and round on the palate, then turns a bit chalky on the dry finish.
