The 2006 Rima 32 Reserva is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (not the usual indigenous Cava varieties) with a medium straw color, tiny bubbles, and a nose of mineral, melon, pit, and tropical fruits. Fresh and lively on the palate with excellent balance and length, it is more than competitive with entry-level Champagne. It can be enjoyed over the next 3 years.
Bodegas Pinord is a family-owned estate dating back more than 150 years. The existing winery and cellar was constructed in 1942 and has a capacity of over 5,000,000 bottles. Both sparkling (Cava) and still wines are produced from Penedes and neighboring Priorat.
