The 2015 Gran Reserva feels quite harmonious even if it was generously oaked. It's 80% Tempranillo with 10% each Mazuelo and Garnacha that matured in barrique for 24 months, the first 16 in French barriques and the rest in American oak barrels. It has some oxidative notes, hints of iron, blood and iodine and fine-grained tannins. It finishes with some bitterness and slightly astringent. 26,450 bottles.

The 2009 Gran Reserva is new for me, 40% each Cabernet and Tempranillo with 10% Mazuelo and 10% Garnacha aged for two years in new French and Russian oak barrels, which sounds quite similar to the hacienda Pradolagar. It has an Atlantic character with some herbal notes intermixed with aromas of leather, licorice, earth and cigar box that are mildly reductive (decant in advance) with some honeyed notes. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a slightly drying finish. If you're tolerant with the mild animal aromas this is a classic for you. 9,000 bottles.
