The 2014 Jose Pariente Sauvignon Blanc has some reductive/sweaty aromas, so an energetic decanting might not be a bad idea. This cold fermented Sauvignon was kept in contact with the lees for four months before bottling. Once the reductive aromas are gone, the dominant note is herbal. The palate is medium-bodied with pungent flavors and dry, finishing somehow bitter. 90,000 bottles.

The 2013 Sauvignon Blanc has a similar problem as its Verdejo sibling, but with the added reductive personality of the Sauvignon Blanc. I don’t really like that combination of sulfur and reduction under which there seem to be herbal aromas that are found mainly when you put the wine in your mouth. The palate is quite dry. Drink now.
