The expressive and aromatic 2014 Juan Rojo has floral aromas intermixed with sweet spices and aromatic herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and good balance and freshness. 40,000 bottles produced.

The 2010 Juan Rojo is pure, ungrafted Tempranillo from old vines raised in French oak barrels for eight months. There is good balance and nice integration of the different components, coming through as quite harmonious and elegant. It's soft and polished, with fully-resolved tannins and nice freshness. This wine is very drinkable and pretty good value. 40,000 bottles produced.

The 2008 Juan Rojo is raised in French (Allier) and American oak for eight months. It has a ripe bouquet of macerated dark cherries, soy and dried prune that is uncomplicated but clean. The palate is ripe and sweet on the entry, with red cherries and a touch of soy leading to a tart, slightly pinched finish. Drink now-2015. The 2006 Juan Rojo is 100% Tempranillo from 80+-year-old vines aged for 8 months in French oak. It delivers a superb bouquet of lightly roasted herbs, espresso, lavender, incense, black cherry, blackberry, and dark chocolate. This leads to a rich, succulent, seamless wine that manages to conceal enough structure for another 2-3 years of evolution. This lengthy effort will be at its best from 2012 to 2020. An endearing, balanced, controlled Toro with earthy aromas of blackberry jam, fine leather and mellow herbs. The palate is big, tannic and rock solid, while the flavors are perfectly approachable, sweet and tilt toward chocolate and blackberry. A bit creamy on the finish, with molasses and caramel.
