With a deep garnet-purple color, the 2010 Hattrick presents aromas of crushed blackberries and blueberries with hints of violets, roses, dark earth, toast, chocolate box and cedar. Big, full-bodied and voluptuous on the palate, it has a medium to firm level of grainy tannins, crisp acidity to lend ample support to the fleshy fruit and a long finish with some anise hints. Composed of 55% Shiraz, 40% Grenache and 5% Tempranillo, the 2009 Hattrick reveals a very deep garnet-purple color and notes of kirsch, dried plums, cedar and creme de cassis plus dusty earth and black pepper. Richly fruited and full bodied on the palate, the ample flesh is well supported by crisp acid and a firm level of grainy tannins, finishing long. It should drink best 2013 to 2022+. The 2005 The Hattrick is, as the name suggests, a blend of three varieties, Shiraz (47%), Grenache (43%), and Cabernet (10%). It was aged in a mix of new and used French and American barriques. Opaque purple-colored, it reveals an expressive bouquet of cedar, leather, baking spices, black cherry, and blackberry. This is followed by a full-bodied, flavorful wine with savory flavors, good depth, and excellent length. Give it 2-3 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2010 to 2018.
