The 1999 "The Hattrick," a 600-case blend of 50% Grenache, 45% Shiraz, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, shows dense ruby/purple color, excellent, concentrated, smoky black fruits, medium to full body, good sweetness, but then a slight narrowing in the finish that kept it from meriting an outstanding score. Nevertheless, there is a lot to like, and this is an excellent wine which should handsomely repay 5-10 years of cellaring.Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel. (888) 472-5283
