The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico sparkles on the palate with beautifully delineated, vibrant fruit. Sweet red cherries, minerals and dried flowers come together nicely in this firm, structured Amarone. Hints of chocolate and leather inform the substantial, weighty finish. This is another terrific showing from Le Salette. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted from Le Salette this year.
