Blended of 75% Shiraz and 25% Grenache, the 2009 Halliwell Shiraz Grenache gives a deep garnet-purple color and notes of warm red currants, black cherries and kirsch with suggestions of black tea, licorice and dried roses. Fresh and fruity on the medium to full bodied palate, it has a medium level of silky tannins, lively acid and a long finish. Delicious now, it should keep through 2016+.
