The 2001 Pinot Noir Reserve has aged well on the nose, maintaing sufficient freshness and delineation, offering kirsch, cumin and a healthy dose of peppermint. The palate is well balanced with a slightly ferrous opening. There is a meaty, gourmand quality to this wine, touches of dried blood and iron filings toward the generous and focused finish. This has aged very well and should continue to give pleasure of the next 4 or 5 years.
