1992 was a much more difficult vintage in Gigondas than in Chateauneuf du Pape. Most of the 1992s I tasted when I visited the area in March were unimpressive. However, that cannot be said about Santa Duc's 1992 Gigondas. It offers a sweet, jammy nose of roasted nuts, Provencal herbs, and black-cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, with expansive, sweet fruitiness, moderate tannin, and admirable structure, this is a serious, well-endowed Gigondas for drinking over the next decade.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; Tel.
